Basilica of St. Francis. Frescoes by Giotto

Assisi

The earthquake of September 1997 caused deep damage to the upper basilica, with the collapse of the two points, and extensive damage to the tympanum of the south transept. The basilica was closed for two years for restoration work. They safely and completely restored the frescoes of the vault and walls with the participation of several companies of restoration under the direction of ICR.
