House of Squared theater
Pompeii excavations
The house is called the small pictures for theatrical paintings that decorate the walls of the atrium. In a soft blue background it stand out because of the small pictures painted with scenes of the comedy of Menander. The house is also named Casca Longus House (the name is engraved on the marble tripod, with legs and lion heads). Probably the tripod belonged to Casca Longus (one of the conspirators who killed Caesar) and was bought in Rome by the owner of the house.
The restoration was designed to restore the frescoes on the walls, the floors of opus sectile structures in curtain, (non so che cosa e cortina) furniture made of stone and brick, the peristyle, to allow the public opening of the entire block.
